Innovative
Kairos Pilot Project

Tellus Energy Solutions has initiated the development of the Kairos pilot project in Northern Bavaria. This groundbreaking project aims to establish decentralized production of natural hydrogen combined with geothermal energy, encompassing the entire process—from exploration and appraisal to development and production. Tellus Energy Solutions is the first company globally to pioneer this integrated development and production approach.

The Kairos pilot project consists of three phases

Phase I: 2025-2026

In the current phase I, geochemical and geophysical measurements are being used to identify suitable locations in the Northern Bavaria region. At the same time, the start-up is working on the regulatory framework, on the development of technical solutions for the separation of hydrogen from geothermal water, and is in discussions with potential consumers of geothermal energy and hydrogen.

Phase II: 2027-2028

In Phase II of the pilot project, the data obtained will be used to select a suitable location for an initial exploratory well. In addition to the geological conditions, the proximity to potential customers will also be considered.

Phase III: 2029-2030

Drilling of geothermal wells, installation of the technical systems for the separation of hydrogen, start of commercial production of natural hydrogen and geothermal energy for the end user.
